Meet Glynis
I have worked as an artist and Art teacher since I graduated from Melbourne State College with a degree in Secondary Art & Craft Education. Following many years teaching in secondary schools I am now running classes from my home studio and developing my own painting work; selling privately as well as through exhibitions and online.
My paintings, although varied in subject matter and medium, are explorations of the effects of light on objects and in the landscape and the way in which light, shadow, shape and colour create movement and atmosphere. My aim is to express and communicate a sense of the aesthetic qualities of the simple and unremarkable in our surroundings as well as the profoundly beautiful.
In the watercolour and oil painting classes I teach, I seek to equip my students with the skills to develop confidence in expressing their own ideas while experiencing the joy of creating Art.
